Who knows? I’d say it’s because the studio is Canadian and wasn’t all that aware of the resemblance, but they still have access to news.
It’s still funny as Hell to think that this was what he had to do after he lost the election.
Why did they make her dad look like Mitt Romney? It’s creepy.
Blythe’s dad and Mrs. Twombley are pretty amusing too.
It’s really the human characters who get the least amount of screentime that are more interesting ones.
Really, the “Helicopter Dad” episode with Blythe’s father was the only one where I was more interested in the human’s than the pets.
Ah well. Don’t really care. Watch your damn cartoon.
Yeah, but they’re only interesting because they’re easy to hate and are so over-the-top in terms of stereotypes.
I wouldn’t have said anything about them. I agree with those other fans.
Even the most rabid LPS fans I’ve seen say that they don’t watch the show for the humans. I can’t see why anyone would, honestly. They’re just not nearly as interesting.
The first two are wrong. It’s not… you know what? YOU KNOW WHAT, MOTHERFUCKER?!?!
:insert extreme raeg here:
Okay, fine. While I do think that the first two are wrong, the last two are opinions, and I respect them.
I’ll have more for you tomorrow when I have more time to write text walls.
Heavily influenced, yet there’s an episode that’s called Mean Isn’t Your Color.
Even if that was done as a parody, they should have known what the reaction was going to be and that the joke wouldn’t go over well.
LPS wouldn’t exist without FiM. Let’s get that right out of the way. It’s derivative material designed to be a “if you like X, you’ll LOVE Y” experience.
But rather than trying and going off and making its own stories, characters, and ideas, it just mashes together stuff from FiM and various other cartoons, playing it completely straight.
The only thing that keeps the show entertaining is the exaggerated personalities of the pets, because the humans sure as hell don’t put in any effort into making their screentime not-boring. They’re dead weight. They shouldn’t be in the same show as the animals, who overshadow them. Problem is they have to be for the stories they want to tell.
So we get like three storylines per episode and every time they go to the humans you’re just wondering why they cut away from the only entertaining part of the show. You’ve got an episode where the pets all sing and dance to a Thriller-type song, and then all of a sudden you’ve got the “main character” locked in a bathroom.
It’s a lack of focus. Pick one idea and make an episode out of it rather than making a bunch of weak stories.
>Heavily influenced
It was just a coincidence. No big deal.
It’s just like saying that a sofa is a ripoff of an (almost) completely different sofa because they’re similar. It’s just stupid.
…
I have to admit, while I like LPS more than FiM itself, you are pretty darn right.
Pepper also seems to have some Pinkie in her as well, but not exactly.
Doesn’t make her a good character. Won’t even talk about how those episodes given were themselves heavily influenced by FiM.
Don’t you remember when I told you this in a PM?
Even if you can’t call them direct clones, you really can’t deny the influence at least in part. Most of them just take bits and pieces of FiM characters.
Minka, yeah, she’s a Pinkie clone.
I had to double check just to make sure that Andrea Libman wasn’t voicing her as well.
Now Penny may give off some Fluttershy vibes, but she’s still not a direct clone. Same goes for Zoe. I get a slight Rarity feel from her, but she’s still far from an exact copy.
Minka on the other hand…
More like a Pinkie clone than anything else, sadly.
For better or for worse, she pretty much is Pinkie wholesale.
You made me LOL long and hard, thank you!
it’s the crossover no one asked for
