Some neckbeard thought erections were funny, and like a genius of the times, invented the “wingboner”. Despite having no logical basis, our fandom has absorbed it and acts like it actually exists.

There is no logic in this place.

It took me a while to realize that was Rumble with a mowhawk, seen from the back. At first I thought Flitter and Cloudchaser were looking at something obscene, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what it was supposed to be.

Are you seriosuly discussing wingboners now? Almost three full years after the term was “accepted”, for lack of a better word?

The word “erection” is not necessarily sexual. “The erection of the building took three weeks” for example. Erection is just the act of become erect or upright.

An upright posture to show excitement, such as wings being up, is actually called an “erection take” in animation lingo. Like a spit take, or a double take. Wingboner is not an inappropriate name for the phenomenon in MLP:FiM pegasi at all.

The concept of a wing-boner doesn’t even make sense. Since when do wings play any role in sexual arousal? If anything, them being up like that would suggest surprise or shock.
