I personally enjoy humanizations that portray the characters as people of color - it feels as though there is more heart put into it, and they can make you see the character in a different light than whatever your preconceptions may have been. :3

I have no qualms about the ethnicity of the character as long as the artist knows how to draw and can take criticism without dismissing it as racism.
