God are you really going to be that guy… fine, I’m feeling generous today. “Cuteness” is associated with “sweetness”, “sweetness” is a well-known trait of sugar, excessive amounts of sugar is known to lead to diabetes, and diabetes leads to a greater risk of heart attacks. Hence the joke of people acting like they’re having a heart attack when seeing something extremely cute and the tag for such images being a corruption of the word diabetes.

As someone who’s gotten cuteness overload before, I have never gotten cardiac arrest. It’s not as bad as the myths say it is in the media, but it’s a good slight pressure in your chest. Stop lying.
