Background Pony with the snail GIF here, it’s her eyes that creep me out a bit. Everything else is perfect in this image.
I think it may just be that her eyes, more specifically her irises, are just a tiny bit too big for her face. I mean just barely.
There’s also a bit of asymmetry which makes her look more “real”, as if this was a very well-done portrait. That may also be a factor in some folks finding this image creepy.
Me too, though I suppose it still looks a bit weird. I’d say this is teetering on the edge of the uncanny valley.
