No, they should stop looking like giant salt shakers with plungers and whisks stuck in them. And the classic series is long dead (unfortunately; I feel like killing off the Time Lords closed more and more interesting doors than it opened).
The low budget look is the hallmark of the classic series. Besides, what you call pants on head retarded, many others see as chillingly inhuman? What, should they just be a brooding race of rubber forehead aliens with oversized guns?

Ehhhhh, I can’t really agree with you on that one. That sounds like it could go a bit too far into grimdark territory, and part of the charm of the show, old and new, is the whimsy sprinkled about.
Really, Doctor Who would probably be a lot better if it dropped the charade and finished breaking with the notion that it was for children.
Agreed. He’s was completely ruthless and understated, had a genuine air of creepiness about him, and is actually winning for the majority of both episodes! Hell, in “Keeper of Trakken” he pretty much does win for all intents and purposes, especially considering the entire star system gets destroyed next serial.
We need more Masters like him. None of this campy, evil for the sake of evil bullshit.
