But you seriously can’t defend G3.5. That shit was awful.

I’d laugh but it would be awesome if this gets a toy just because battle armor is so outside the previous versions of the MLP franchise.

I love how Hasbro just says basically “we need this in the show” and they get to do whatever they want to make it. “We need a wedding” = Big two-parter musical with Twilight’s brother and a butt kicking fight scene involving evil shapeshifters. “We need Crystal ponies” = Rainbow Dash armored up for action?
 
Let’s also give Hasbro credit in that the Mane cast is still around. A new twist on them to freshen up their toys like this could work well, as opposed to how G1 series just phased in all-new casts.

Even if the episode turns out to be subpar, one episode does not make or break a season. Although, one expects something ‘epic’ for a season premiere after what we got for season two’s premiere and finale.

Starting to make some connections now; Cadance’s cutie mark is a Chrystal heart, so this could mean she’s the ruler of this empire, which was mentioned in the toys. This is quite a bit of foreshadowing to put together.
