Season One had its charm, but there were a few episodes where it seemed like the writers hadn’t figured out the show yet.
The fandom was never innocent heheh, but the evolution of the show and its resultant watchers always fascinate me.
The fandom had a lot of innocence, as do our memories of those times.
It had a sort of innocence methinks.
Season one felt more 2+ years ago when everything was wondrously new and we didn’t overanalyze every frame of the show.
Season one felt more… fleshed out.
Twilight told Snips and Snails to help clean the mess left behind, which probably implied reconstructing her home if she didn’t just run off. Her struggle afterwards was of course a plot point in S3.
I’d say Trixie getting her home crushed was either done for humour, or someone in the writing department had an insane justice scale; tell a white lie during a show, be humiliated and lose everything.
But as not-main character we’re not meant to really care.
Celestia gave no fucks that Pinkie was acting like, well Pinkie.
That’s part of what I loved about S1. You never felt characters were getting screwed over just for the sake of humor. It added to the warmth of its atmosphere.
