Because it’s supposed to be an aged-up pic, as if they were the same age. Men are generally a litttle bigger than women.
Well, either that or Pia-Sama thinks that Spike and Rarity actually are not very far apart in terms of age. (I think there’s sometihing like 10 years between them.)

Her torso is too tall, and her crotch is too low as a consequence. It’s also pushed back for some reason. It’s a subtle mistake, but looks weird once you notice it. Pia doesn’t normally make mistakes like this, but at least her Spike doesn’t have gigantism anymore.
I’ll try that next time i’m in the restroom.

Simply that if you stand with your butt sticking out (very bad posture) your belly shows more. I can very easily imagine where her thigh and belly join and it pretty much makes sense to me.
The belt worn very high up and the fold in her form-fitting skirt don’t help, either.
But, of course, you’re entitled to interpret the image as you see fit.
I don’t know what posture has to do with it.

That’s what I thought at first, but her arms, face, and legs show no signs of her being fat.
She has a big belly?
I seen this lots of times I hardly take notice of it.
Why does it stick way out in front of her crotch though? I don’t think the belt would do that to her lower stomach.
