Yeah, I suppose things can slip by them like that.
I suppose, but frankly, not everything the show-runners do is completely logical. Take the entire episode of Spike at Your Service, for example… I would have preferred it if they had simply scrapped the whole thing and given Rarity fans her danged episode, just so they would have had no Alamo. But I digress.
Okay, as I recall, she just said he wasn’t used properly. I heard nothing about never using him again.
There’s not even logic to that: I botched the first use of something incredible, so just shuffle it into a trash can and never bring it up again.
That would be, for lack of a better term, bullcrap.
McCarthy, I believe it was, said that Sombra did not come across quite the way she wanted, and further statements were made that because reactions to him were generally negative, he was extremely unlikely to ever appear in the show again.
Now of course, I didn’t care much for him as a character, so that fact doesn’t especially bother me in and of itself. However, I was certainly surprised to hear this kind of response to feedback. As I thought about it, I realized Discord, as we all know, has enjoyed enormous popularity, and sure enough, multiple returns to the show are now a reality for him. Chrysalis was also generally well-liked, and she featured prominently in the first arc of the much beloved comic series.
“The squeaky wheel gets the grease”, as the saying goes.
Complaining or, hell, just stating one’s distaste for the ship doesn’t stop fanwork.
Complaining will sadly win sometimes, IE, Derpy, but we just have to know when to listen and recognize a faulty whine when we see it. And to also know when decriers have a point.
And what effect did negativity have on Sombra?
I think sometimes it kind of does work. Negativity breeds negativity, after all. Sometimes it even has a significant effect, e.g. Sombra or Derpy. The circumstances and justifiability are debated, but there’s no denying things would be different without the complaints.
Well that clearly won’t work, so I say Hate and let Hate.
Just based on what I’ve seen around here. Some of these guys try to hate things right out of existence…
How you figure?
I think you’re confusing “acknowledgement” with laziness.
Well, clearly those with opinion enough to cast a vote are acknowledging it’s a thing, rather than just blocking it.
So, I ask again.
What exactly do you want people to get over?
The fact that it’s a thing at all.
Get over what?
The fact that some like it? Or the fact that some don’t?
Yep. Some people just need to get over it already.
There’s no point holding resentment at this point, IMO. What’s done is DONE.
