Yes! I was afraid you took me as one of those who commented just to make the drama further, it was my fault for expressing in the wrong way.  
I still don’t like the idea of the edits gone, but I can understand the reason why you did it.

I appologize then if this was indeed nothing more than a misunderstanding. Please do realize that we get many people who seem to have nothing else in their lives to do other than harass us, so at times, yeah, we’re going to be less than nice about it.
 
That Dale person says I’ve never acted any way besides being a jerk must not have seen any comments prior to those two threads. It looks like he’s just trying to stir things up; not the first person to do so.

I see you didn’t agree with the message of the image but you wanted to respect the artist overall.

I’m fairly new here, I wasn’t in Ponybooru, but I too felt attacked for making a joke.

I don’t ban people for disagreeing with me, hell, or even insulting me. I know that’a a thing a lot of people like to say, especially on /mlp/, but they like to omit the “oh, and also I spammed 20 images with ‘X should get raped’” or “and I deleted the tags on everything on the first page”, but I have a long history of arguing with people and nothing bad happening to anyone. “Smiling Pony is a faggot” will always be a thing because there will always someone butthurt that they got banned over breaking the site rules.
 
As for the whole edits business; the artist requested that there be no edits, and as artists are the people producing the content that make this site have a point in even existing, it makes a whole lot of sense to respect their wishes. Do I agree with what the artist is saying? Nope. Neither do I agree with a whole lot of art already on the site, but I don’t delete it because I don’t like it.

Eco’s moderation style of “fuckit, let them do whatever” also lead the community to do just that, and ultimately drove Eco to shut the place down.
 
No, it wasn’t money or server issues or spam that really killed Ponibooru, it was that Eco and the moderators really ended up hating the community and felt powerless to do anything about it.
 
Us actually telling people that they’re being cunts is our way of saying “we care”.

I must admit I expected to be banned sooner, or end like Sid, with his named changed, but it’s still a unequal relation anyway, that’s why I prefer to end this in good terms.

Sure it was great to fend for yourself back on Ponibooru, but it made the comment environment there an absolutely horrid troll/insult/spam filled mess and likely drove away as many people as it attracted. (poni did not have a good reputation) There’s enough places out there that allow you to act how you want to consequence-free.

Sorry that you have a problem with authority and rules. Maybe out there in the real world you’ll learn that people don’t put up with that type of shit or maybe you do what you do because you’re powerless to ‘stick it to the man’. Whatever your problem is, don’t try to make it ours.
