It wasn’t so much that the water temple was hard, as much that you constantly had to pause, switch items, pause, switch items, rinse and repeat.
 
Dark Link is the only thing fans remember fondly from it.

Been playing the 3ds version again lately. Dunno if it applies to the original version too but there’s a neat trick. If you get the Biggoron’s sword before entering the temple, Dark Link has a much harder time defending against you. :3

I personally think the Shadow Temple would’ve been more ideal, since it’s the creepiest dungeon by far.

Water Temple really isn’t that bad, guys.
 
Hell, Shy is used to wandering Everfree. She can handle it.

Not the easiest dungeon in the series, but far from the hardest.

the water temple really isn’t that hard. it’s just a little tedious and there’s a couple parts that are easy to miss

Played it again last week. Crushed the Water Temple in less than an hour and a half. (Though I’m still missing a skulatula or two.)
 
My only real frustration with the dungeon the first time I played it was getting all the way to the room with the Boss Key and finding out I was one small key short from getting it. I was also too much of a wuss to fight any of the bosses.
 
Also, Scary Butt Fun, it’s incredible you managed to get through the Shadow Temple without the lens of truth. Hats off to you.

I dunno, I thought the temple was so cool that it didn’t seem hard. Not as cool as the shadow temple though.

I didn’t bother trying the Water Temple on my own without a walkthrough. I’m afraid I’ll get lost, or I’ll use keys wrong, run out and get stuck.

I could never make progress in this dungeon when I was a kid.
 
Though, I wonder how she’ll react to the Shadow Temple…

It’s possible to beat the temple without the Lens, but still quite hard.
 
Bongo-Bongo is actually very do-able, if you’re any good with the bow & arrow.

even without the lents you can target him, the problem is now when to shot

The Water Temple was large, that’s not the same as hard.

I didn’t find it that hard.
 
The Shadow Dungeon as harder, though that might be because I didn’t have the Lens of Truth…

Try great bay temple and then we can talk about hard.
