Minuette and “Colgate” are proven to be the same pony in no less than 3 seperate sources; a later blind bag wave, the trading card, and the official mobile game.
 
I feel like I should just upload the normal Minuette blindbag, I uploaded the screenshot from the Mobile Game and the trading card is already on here, and that somehow STILL isn’t enough for some people.

Uh, you sure? ‘cause this is definitely the Minuette toy, and neither name has been mentioned in the show. There’s a ton of hourglass ponies in ponyville, dude. BP ahead of you is kinda right.

I’m kind of sick of people taking any blindbag that even remotely resembles a background pony and insisting that that’s the background pony’s official name, and anyone who disagrees is delusional.
 
NEWSFLASH: “Colgate = Minuette” is just as much of a headcanon as “Minuette ≠ Colgate”!

Don’t get me wrong, people are free to refer to her as whatever they like to.  
But I think we’re better accept that Minuette = Colgate and support her.
 
Think like this: Do you prefer Hasbro to make a load of HasbrOCs and G3-to-G4 toys who aren’t in the show, or do you prefer more toys of characters from the show?  
(remember that the show is made for selling toys, so if people aren’t interested in toys, the show goes to Tartarus)

@BP Yes, but we don’t seem to show any interest on their toys. We just leave complaints. “Those look nothing like in the show”, “We want Derpy”, “We want Applejack with hat”, “We want plushies”, etc.  
Since bronies tend to buy only characters from the show, I think we should accept things like Minuette being “Colgate”. Then maybe Hasbro makes a brushable Minuette with her beautiful toothpaste-colored mane and all.

They don’t care if someone guys their Minuette toy and calls it Colgate.  
They only care about your money.

Hasbro CAN do a good job making the more expensive toys. But we must show interest in their toys, or else they might stop caring about us.  
Bronies already complained a lot about Pinklestia (which deserved it), “Heartstrings”, “Lulamoon” and other stuff, and Hasbro was nice enough to give us satisfaction. Better colors, the names we want, proper vectors, etc. Hasbro has been investing a quite lot more on good quality toys for us, lately, and if we keep complaining, they’ll think we’re a too persnickety fanbase, then they may stop investing in our satisfaction.  
That’s why I support official names and such. Most fan-names aren’t really important.

@sekacpuc I know, I know, that’s disappointing. Blind Bags ARE really lousy.  
But that’s because they’re supposed to be cheap. If you compare blind bag Cherry Berry with brushable Cherry Berry, you’ll see a LOT of improvement. Eye color and cutie mark were re-adjusted to look exactly like what they do in the show, and they use a proper vector for Cherry Berry, rather than re-coloring Pinkie Pie.

So yeah, if hasbro wants the toys to be the BG ponies, at least don’t be lazy and just recolor the mane 6, then everyone will keep the “are you serious nigga?” face.

I see what you’re talking about, but still if they wanted minuette to represent that blue pony with toothpaste-like mane they could do a better job (i know littler girls don’t care about that but still).
 
What they did was recoloring twilight and using a hourglas cutie mark, wich many other BG ponies already have. Why they didn’t took the vector of a BG pony used dozen of times? Then i could accept that her name is minuette with no problem (heck, we could even call her colgate minuette from now on), but what they did was a lazy job. That’s why i don’t consider her canon name as minuette and having hard time accpeting toys material as canon due the number of things that differ from the show.

Let me try to express myself better.  
The fact that there is a toy named “Minuette” implies that, in the MLP universe, there is a pony named “Minuette”. This is official.  
They represent Minuette as like that. And relatively, by Hasbro’s standards, Minuette looks like the pony Bronies called “Colgate”, so the most likely thing is that Minuette = “Colgate”.

Firstly, the Terry comic is fake.  
About the Rainbow Dash toys you mentioned: Rainbow Dash is a canon character, and those are different models of the said character (and it says nowhere that that butterfly is her pet). It’s the same thing as the metallic and glitter blind bags. Also, glow-in-the-dark Zecora. Zecora is a real character, but she doesn’t glow in the dark in the show. (Putting my thoughts in words here is a bit hard, because I’m not even a native english speaker. What I’m saying is: they’re official characters, as toys).  
They may not be in the show, but they are stil official G4 characters. And some of them are in the toy line AND in the show. Sometimes with diferent names, but that’s a trademark issue. And when that happens, we prefer to let show-canon take precedence. Like Rose > Roseluck and Trixie > Trixie Lulamoon.

Then what’s also make scootaloo being terry and zecora the king zebra also not canon? With dozens of examples, it’s clearly that anything hasbro release is already separed from the show.
 
So Mr. Revolución, toy’s material aren’t canon as you proclaim. It’s not “you guys don’t accept “canon” names because they’re “canon” “, it’s just using commom sense.

What if I told you I don’t think calling her “Colgate” is a good idea?  
What if I told you I think the idea of her obsessed with dentistry and ignoring her cutie mark is lame? Bronies may have different opinions, you know.  
I for one think the name “Minuette” is gorgeous and fitting for her. I also like the idea of her being a timelady, alongside Dr. Hooves, and that doesn’t make me a “canonfag”, as you claim. I enjoy fanon as much as anyone, but when fanon gets denied by canon, I just accept it.

There being a blue Twilight is fun.  
A pony named Colgate obsessed with dentistry and hairbrushes and apparently ignoring her cutie mark special talent is fun.  
There’s nothing fun about waiting for information to be put out by a toy company.  
But I guess a canonfag wouldn’t know anything about fun.

The only thing that makes you claim that Minuette is not “Colgate” is that you don’t want to let go of you fanon.

Minuette looks like Twilight Sparkle and might be mistaken for Colgate… if you are BLIND.

Er, the green twilight was named “Heartstrings”. That same wiki decided it was Lyra and changed all references to her new “canon” name, much to everyone’s annoyance.
 
Eventually Hasbro fixed everything by making a new toy, called “Lyra Heartstrings”, and having it actually somewhat resemble Lyra.
 
Not that I’m in favour of “Colgate Minuette” or anything. Let Minuette be her own pony.

Yes. Minuette is Colgate’s canon name.  
It is canon, as are Lyra, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia. And “Carrot Top” as a nickname for Golden Harvest.  
Toy names are official, I don’t see what’s so hard about accepting it.

Minuette was the Hasbro toy’s name, a Twilight recolor just like in the pic above. Being blu-ish and having hourglass cutie mark is what they have in common.

Well, it’s the canon name of the unicorn on the left. (A toy released by Hasbro in their “blindbag” line.)
 
Apparently a mod at one of the fan wikis decided that this MUST be Colgate’s “official” name … because of course, hourglass cutie marks are SO rare. :)
