I doubt its a changeling but just a creature with mimic-like abilities (otherwise, I’d figure the clone Winona on the right would have more insect-like eyes if it were a changeling). It’s clear that the rock they find from the earlier preview pages is really this egg.
 
The question is, how are the CMC going to consider this a way to earn their cutie marks?
 
Step 1) Find cute mimic creature  
Step 2) ???  
Step 3) Cutie marks!
