For my (sadly now-scrapped) pony shmup project “Pegastrike.” I may get back to work on it if I get enough people requesting me to do so. Also, expect similar sprites of Derpy and Fluttershy soon enough.

You are actually the second person to compare these sprites I made to Contra (the first one was on deviantART.) I take that as a huge compliment, mostly because I absolutely LOVE run n’ guns like Contra, Metal Slug, Gunstar Heroes, etc. And yes, these Pegastrike sprites were inspired by Contra, as well as Raiden, R-Type and Gunstar Heroes.
But now, because of your comment, I am picture Rainbow and Lightning as Bill and Lance, saving the universe from the “vile” Red Falcon…they should consider themselves heroes :3
