I think the real issue is that BronyCon gave Smitty the go-ahead to sell them, then changed their minds after he had spent a lot of money to get prints made. It’s a piss-poor way of running a convention.

the reason that simitty’s prints werent allowedd to be sold while atryl’s did is so painfuly obvious, his prints look like the typical loli japanese artist. i said it before, but now that i look at the whole set….
 
yeah… im also thinking its wasnt about safe/questionable content as much as intent/feel that the art gives, look at atryl pics, they are more about the pew-pew badasery rather than boobs or asses.
 
and dont let it get to you atryl, being such a prominent person in the fandom, people is sure to use you as an standar.

They didn’t have rules about the content at all, that was the problem. I had the BonBon (and other anthro pics) last year and they caused no problem, even moms/dads bought them to their sons and stuff. So I guess they weren’t too distasteful after all.
 
Idunno what happened around the con, I had like 10 minutes to do a circle say hi to friends and artists I know / found.

Yours are showing panties and a far less dress ponies in the background, so the comparison is valid, you are sadly simply the guy who everyone has to go and say, “Well, why the hell does he get to sell them? And isn’t it convenient he does?” Is it fair to you? No, but it is also not fair to the other fellows. Do keep in mind, that’s one of the pictures of questionable nature, so the others seen you getting to sell all of those without issue also brings you name back into the fray.
 
Also, Doxy having problems, you say? I guess he will also need to get more involved with the Bronycon head honchos to get things figure out beforehand so he can have no problems in the future.

Of course they are. Her opinions aren’t anything special - she’s just obnoxious about expressing them. From what I’ve seen most con staff are no more rational or open minded than the average person, and the average person is neither rational nor open minded.

considering he draws porn, that it is a family convention and that he is investing a good amount of money on this…. well, it doesnt hurt to triple check.

I just can’t see how this picture is unacceptable. You see WAY WORSE at High School prep rallies…

This is actually quite tame compared to works I’ve seen other artists sell at these conventions… Some of Braeburned’s works at Unicon earlier this year was pretty suggestive, but he had no problems as far as I know.
 
But then again, Unicon was a fuck-up for everyone that went.
 
Still, Bronycon has the likes of Doxy and Atryl there, they have their own reps within the nsfw crowd, their artwork at the con has a little suggestiveness to it like Smitty’s. So what’s the deal?
 
Personally, Smitty should sell his prints outside the con at opening and closing hours of the con, and the rest of us should inundate the administration with hate mail until they get their act together and let him sell artwork that was originally approved.
 
Just one stack of bullshit after another, I guess. What’s the betting that there’s some personal vendetta behind this? A lot of people had their jimmies rustled about the ‘pet dash’ thing, its not much of a stretch for some cunt to feel it ‘right’ to ‘punish’ smitty g for that.

i dont think personal style should come into discussion. i mean, if everything you draw looks like x thing, and they dont alow that x thing, you are pretty much fuck up.
 
dont know about doxy, but atryl got all his bases covered, except for the Chrysalis one. that underboob could have been easily edited out too.  
although it looks pretty harmless…
 
maybe staff just went the extra mile to avoid the “child porn thing”  
considering the amount of media they got covering them its not far fetched…

i highly doubt EQD would post those for the same reason i told to petedash, maybe on the nightly round up if at all. and didnt shipping prices went cucko-high sometime ago?
