Where’s the positive representation, though? We know the ponies are varied enough but ultimately “good”, but I kind of felt something twitch when in “Dragon Quest” Spike goes on to tell Peewee about “Being a pony”.

Back to topic; The only mule that appears it’s incredibly friendly and let’s be honest here: This is Rarity we’re talking about, if something doesn’t look like it came out from a supermodel convention she’ll probably gonna call it ugly. Gilda basically was a jerk by nature, and she was jealous of Dahs’s new friends and Gustav… well, he was French.  
I’ll admit I have no counter arguments about dragons thought.

No, really, think about on the first impressions of every race/species that wasn’t a pony.
 
Mules: Rarity calls them ugly; Cranky Doodle’s spotlight in his episode brought him out to be something of a jerk before meeting up with his old flame. That’s still 80 percent screen-time of jerkiness.
 
Griffons: Gilda and Gustav were both proud, arrogant even; Gilda pushes the envelope when she yells at ponies she doesn’t know at all while the ponies remain docile in the background.
 
Dragons: Barring Spike, we’ve been painted nothing but a negative view of their kind and that Spike following the “pony way” is presented as the best thing ever.
 
Changelings: Okay, free pass here.

I’m not going to complain, but I’m going to state why I’m not going to get hyped.
 
Inevitably, any sentient race that isn’t a pony will be negatively represented and the ponies will always be proven in the right and easily forgiven. It’s like light racism in a sugarworld.

Scootalo can’t fly episode? Whatever, and i doubt that they can handle disability problem after they screwed up with bullies problem.  
Superheroes episode? We all know how last superhero episode looked like. My inner nerd would love good superhero episode but i’m far too cynic now to expect it to be good.  
Applejack, family, apples and shit…. seriously do they have any idea what to do with her? Definitly not interested.  
Nightmare moon again, whatever, she is mediocre villain at best.

Anyway, I’m having trouble getting hyped, since I was burned before:
 
I was hyped for Halo 3; it turned out to be mediocre.  
I was hyped for Mass Effect 3; it too turned out to be mediocre, and had (and still has _{Fuck you EC defenders}) an ending that was the biggest “fuck you” to the audience that I’ve ever seen.
 
Thus, although I’m looking forward to the coming season, I’m not exactly hyped for it (and I don’t mean that as damnation by faint praise)

I don’t know about people wanting that or not, but IIRC that was what Lauren Faust had always planned (Scootaloo never being able to fly).

I’m thinking it is going to be January/February.
 
Last year they had completed animation to show at Comic Con and the season started in November.  
This year, all we’ve got is an animatic. It doesn’t preclude that they haven’t completed animation on at least the first episode, but since one of them is from the first episode…  
Terrible I know. It means that it’ll have been almost a full year since the last season ended. And these clips look fucking amazing.

(And a country song to tie it all together. Seems the writing staff has finally pulled together the lessons they learned in previous seasons.
