Actually, it looks more like the “race” trait is separate from traits that determine things like physical build.

What makes you think that ponies can be partly one type? There’s been no indication of partial possession of abilities, and inarguable proof against it.

Oh yeah, her. Except Scoots here can’t fly at all; not long or high up enough for it to count as flying, anyway.
Stormfront is a Pegasus who’s father was an Earth Pony. She has a large build and incredibly strong wings as a result.
Hell of a lot better than Lauren’s original idea of Scoots being crippled, if a bit complicated.
