Did you read the original or the revised version? The biggest problem with the fic was a result of it being initially put out while in essentially the rough draft phase, and the revisions ironed out a lot of those kinks.

I dunno about the rewrite but it was a headshaking, facepalm every minute worthy ongoing fuckfestival after chapter 8.
 
I still remember that one chap where Nyx saves Twi before the noose in a spectacular way just right after it was said that this was impossible for this and that reason.  
And it was never explained why Nyx was able to do so.
