I know Ultimate Offering was banned, but not just because of that loop. Even without that loop, getting to summon as many monsters as you want for only 500 LP a pop is so overpowered it’s not even funny. This is a game where casually paying half your LP to negate a single summon or spell/trap card is considered tournament worthy (Solemn Judgement), and a card that let you pay 5000 LP to summon a single monster from your Fusion Deck (Cyber Stein) was banned for being far too overpowered XD

Holy crap…I’d be surprised if that method wasn’t banned from tournaments

Lol yeah. There’s actual loops in the real game like that too. One I remember being infamous was Ultimate Offering + Athena + Honest. Ultimate Offering lets you pay 500 LP to summon a monster and you can use it as many times per turn as you have LP to do it, Athena inflicts 600 LP damage to your opponent each time a Fairy-type monster is summoned, and Honest is a Fairy-type monster that lets you return itself to your hand during the Main Phase. So summon Athena, play Ultimate Offering, pay 500 LP to activate Ultimate Offering to summon Honest, your opponent loses 600 LP, return Honest to your hand, pay 500 LP to activate Ultimate Offering to summon Honest, your opponent loses 600 LP, repeat until they die. They’ll hit 0 LP when you still have 1000 LP and there’s sweet diddly all they can do if they don’t have an interrupt handy when you start. You can even do it in your first turn if you get lucky and draw them XD

Now I think of when the Pharoah managed to lock Marik into a drawing loop with his own card

A really cool one, that I don’t think works super well anymore though, were mill decks where you’d lock your opponent down and force them to keep drawing, because if you need to draw a card but can’t you automatically lose. You literally made it out of good cards that had making your opponent draw as a negative like Chainsaw Insect, but use their negative cost as their main effect while using their positive side to play defense :P

It’d be funny too, if it ended up synergizing with non-Pony decks better. Like how a lot of people used Toon Table of Contents (adds 1 Toon card to your hand) and Royal Magical Library (Gets a counter for every spell card used, trade 3 counters to draw a card) in non-Toon decks since they could summon Library, activate Table, use its effect for another Table, use THAT card for another Table, use that Table for 1 Toon, and then use Library to draw a card, all so you could thin your deck by 3, draw 1, and get a free monster XD

I think it would resolve because the trigger effect is removing the card it is equipped to. The way timing works in the game is effects can resolve even if the card is destroyed, which is why a lot of cards that destroy cards make a point of saying they also “negate the activation” as well. Even then, there are other equip cards that have effects that trigger after they are destroyed like Butterfly Dagger - Elma that returns to the hand when destroyed, and Call of the Haunted that has effects that trigger before it is even equipped since it resurrects and then equips :D

Half-defense half utility. It could bring back one of your linchpin cards as well as to cheat a fusion or tribute since you could equip to your material, use it for a special summon, and then bring it back next turn. Theoretically you could even use it to bugger your opponent’s “when this monster is sent to the GY effects” by equipping it to them so its trigger can’t activate :P

An interesting card. Thinking of situations one could use this.

I’m not too knowledgeable when it comes to Yugioh Rulings, but I’m not sure this card can actually resolve. Since it’s an equip, if whatever it’s equipped to leaves the field it gets destroyed, which is fine destroying it wouldn’t negate the effect. The issue is the effect would have no target, an equip card can’t target anything not face up on the field, so once it’s original target leaves the field and it’s destroyed it has no way of know what it’s target is
