It could be possible that she just views everyone beneath her. Given that’s she’s an evil goddess, it could be possible she’d view a mortal human king as a ‘peasant’ of sorts.

Or are you saying that a Princess marrying a peasant could be Queen?
Typically in most monarchies queen regnants have to be wed into position…or in this case empress regnant would likely be more appropriate.
