Afternoon Tea
It’s a pleasant, sunny afternoon in Canterlot where a small unicorn family takes time to have tea with a young exchange student from Trottingham.–This was painted so long ago that I nearly forgot about it. Looking at it now though I remember it being equal parts fun and frustrating.
And no, I didn’t give Twilight the typical beady, soulless, monochromatic baby pony eyes.
Also, this was painted long before any information on Cadance’s origins came to my attention. So please, don’t bug me about her horn.
One more thing . . . this will be the first painting in a three-part miniseries featuring young Twilight Sparkle.
Watercolor on Canson 140 lb. cold press paper. Completed: 4/19/13.

Good Lord, I remember that episode of Johnny Bravo! That was the same guy that did the voice of the Bill in Schoolhouse Rock. “I’m just a bill, yes I’m only a bill…”
That’s where I’d placed Fancy Pants too, about 40-45…but it’s all just headcanon, everyone has their own interpretation.
Yeah, to me I almost felt a very minor “father daughter” vibe in Sweet elite though as you said this interpretation is cool as well.
Also I have that “doesn’t look there age” thing going on but reverse in polarity. People tend to think I am in my late teens but I just turned 27.
Maybe. I still think he looked and sounded quite a bit older than Rarity, but like I said, this is a cool interpretation too.
Like he just has the presence of someone older than himself. I have a friend like that, actually.
