It’s honestly pretty cool. I prefer what they call goat format, which is pre-synchro where there’s no Xyz, Pendulum and Link monsters, because it’s way more chill and the games take much longer so it’s a more casual and social event I find :D

Lol yeah. There’s a reason that cards like Final Countdown, which lets you win no questions asked and is impossible to stop once activated, are considered outright worthless: waiting 20 whole turns for it to happen just isn’t an issue since the game will never last that long even if you managed to activate it first-turn. So it’s basically just losing 2000 lifepoints for nothing :D

The game is really super quick now. Like, one-turn kills are reasonably viable with the right deck, and a commonly played card is a legal version of Pot of Greed that does the same thing, draw 2 cards, at the cost of banishing 10 cards from your deck. It’s why I’m keeping it to more vanilla, so no Synchros or XYZs or Links :D
