I am NOT the creator of AI art. I am its CONSUMER. It’s fucking inconvenient for me to search for images by one request on two different sites. Let’s create a separate “Derpibura” for line and non-line art. And accordingly, they won’t be on the main site. Let’s also divide into black and white and color. A separate site for images with a transparent background and a separate site for anthro.
if its that inconvenient to go to another website when you use the internet i am genuinely so sorry for you.

the problem here being that low-quality hand-drawn art cant be spammed to the same degree as easily spat out AI “art”. low-quality art still takes time and effort to at least some capacity. and weeding out the AI spam makes it easier for the mods to deal with other forms of spam and rule-breaking uploads.

as a real human artist, yes! we do! do YOU know how an AI neural network works? you should do since you’re defending them so hard. human artists reference, study, and get inspired, and ultimately put their own personal touches in their work. an AI, however, doesn’t know what any of the words you’re typing actually mean, let alone create something original. it’s just scanning the pixels of thousands of pre-existing images paired with a keyword and then trying to recreate an assortment of pixels that kinda sorta looks like that thing. it only “knows” what a pony looks like, for example, because its scanned thousands upon thousands of images of ponies. and where did those drawings of ponies come from? human artists. regardless of your own opinions thats quite literally just not the same thing as humans referencing other artists.
and look, if you dont find that unethical, or you think your “art” still has soul because you had to really think hard about what prompt you put in, i cant exactly force you to stop thinking like that. but in any case, they made an entire website for AI images, so just… go there instead?? stop whining and arguing like you cant just type in the URL for tantabus and suddenly you’re in a place where AI is allowed.

And no, if you mean that I drew this because I wanna/need use AI myself - no, I don’t use it yet. But I like other people’s AI art.

This already looks like a very realistic reason, although they didn’t say anything in their announcement thread.
In any case, this site is also littered with low-quality hand-drawn images.
There is a rating system. A sorting system. A filter system. There is literally everything here so as not to distract moderation with sorting out the quality of content, and to work only with, well, difficult situations, such as violations of the law and requests for deletion.

There is no such thing as AI art. Only AI mass plagiarism. By itself it creates nothing new, only copies and blends existing work, which is why in other genres the images all end up looking the same. With added body horror and impossible architecture.
