Scintilla had nothing but contempt for the dragon lord since she was young. Though rather small and stocky in stature, she became an accomplished martial artist. She defeated many warriors and climbed her way up the social hierarchy. Her domineering personality made her an enemy of many, especially the drakes who couldn’t stomach losing to a dragoness.

She finally caught the attention of her target, the dragon lord, when her antics began causing chaos in his court. Underestimating his opponent, the dragon lord challenged her to a match. Breaking all rules of propriety, Scintilla bit him in the face and neck, injuring him severely. The other members of the court wanted to apprehend her, but she behaved so erratically and viciously that they believed she was diseased and stayed away from her. Scintilla took the bloodstone scepter and disappeared into the night.

The dragon lord was humiliated in more ways than one. He knew he would not be able to continue ruling like this, but he refused to cede his power to Scintilla. Unfortunately, the call was no longer his to make, as he had lost the respect of his subjects. Scintilla watched the strongest dragons in the land slay and exhaust each other for the throne, picking off the lesser challengers herself. When the time was right, she simply moved into the dragon lord’s cave and declared it her own.

She made a mockery of the institutions of power in the Dragon Lands, completely disregarding Dragon Law and often wearing carnelian to show how little she thought of her position. To make matters even worse, she had several blasphemous accessories that combined the colors black, blue, green, red, and white. She was known for her pettiness, violent mood swings, cruel and unusual punishments, domestic terror, pointless wars, odd superstitions and her eclectic sense of style. She filled out her eyelashes with phoenix feathers and was often seen wearing bones and ursa major fur.

Dragon Lord Scintilla was the first and only female dragon lord in history until Princess Ember succeeded to the throne. She is widely considered one of the worst. Whether this is entirely fair or not is up for debate, but feather lash extensions and bone jewelry fell out of fashion for thousands of years thanks to her.
