I think LoveStruck is mostly based off of SweetHeart from G1.
About the image: She’s very pretty.
This whole conversation teaches the most realistic lesson of all: Love is hella complicated. >_>
Well, at the very least, it’s a good thing that teaches a realistic lesson. Who needs therapists and talking things out when you’ve got magic, right?
Sigh…oh, well. That’s a fairly minor problem by that point, all things considered.
I admit, it does seem a little off at first blush, but I personally don’t think it’s too much of a mixed message. Then again, it’s kind of up to interpretation:
Forcing two near-strangers to love each other without considering their actual feelings is wrong, no two ways about it.
Quelling a petty argument between an already established couple is a tad grayer. It kinda depends on how you interpret the actual function of the magic: Does it simply reinforce the love that already exist, or does it force new love onto them? I personally lean towards the former.
excuse me?
i said and quote “cadence’s magic does not force anything, it makes people realise what they love about each other”
i meant love love, if it was family love then that is all they will feel, remembering the good times, the happy times, the best times of the past is not mind rape, it is how some couples get back together…
Makes me wonder what she was doing before she got a horn.
Sounds like mind rape to me! What if she was wrong, and they were brother and sister or something, or complete strangers? It just raises too many troubling questions.
@Background Pony
That sounds more reasonable.
It’s Cadance, she doesn’t have to make sense, she just has to warp the story around herself and drain others of personality.
cadence’s magic does not force anything, it makes people realise what they love about each other and thus re-fires the spark that brought them together in the first place.
also, i think this pony would be someone who sets up dates or something lovey dovey like that.
Might just be misreading it, but it went like this:
“CMC, you can’t just use magic to force love between two people you feel should love each other, but clearly don’t!”
Then, in flashback, when Wild Fire and that stallion are arguing:
“Oh, look, Cadance used magic to restore the love that couple should be feeling! How sweet!”
Mixed messages much?
Hypocrisy? How so?
Yeah, still not getting over the hypocrisy there.
