Set your sail for the Seven Seas because the Seaponies are swimming into comics for the first time ever! See the mane six totally transformed.
Pestering the queen into sending messages in bottles to the fabled Seapony kingdoms is just one of the many perks to having royal besties…which is exactly what Izzy has been doing ever since first reading about mythical Seaponies in Sunny’s old history book. So when Queen Haven hears back from the Queen of the Sparkling Seas, Izzy is eager to dive into the adventure of a lifetime. Pipp, on the other hoof, is not excited about her princess duties or having to reschedule a new song release (plus, saltwater totally ruins her shiny mane). The voyage should be smooth sailing, but the tides are changing, a storm is brewing, and Izzy and Pipp are swimming right into it…

There is a ton of lore to use for future G5 episodes in comics and TV, which can be gleaned from anything but FiM Seasons 4-9 which have probably become impossible to use because Discovery allegedly refused to allow use of the rights, even if Hasbro and IDW would like that. Hence the words “Sparkling Sea” from a book published in 2013. It says “kingdoms”, not a single kingdom. Then it means that the various kingdoms created by sea ponies, hippogriffs and kelpies may have been united in the meantime if there is a queen, as “Sparkling Sea” suggests the seas themselves. It would not be surprising if the hippogriffs had shared their knowledge of how to transform surface creatures into sea creatures, with the other sea pony kingdoms.
I’d say if they would want people to forget G4 they wouldn’t make all references etc. and plus they still sell some new G4 merchandise including toys. Of course I know G5 mostly has all new things (and inserting something old takes creativity, I applaud them for they make it interesting and very cute) etc.
I’m not a fan of G4 anymore save for a few characters/things and sea ponies themselves were present since G1 (mermaid toys, besides just ‘shoo bee doo’ seahorses - sadly mermaids didn’t get animated appearance back then, nor in G3.5’s times) so I don’t mind haha.
It was probably due to Spike having name that means, well… spike. Sparky has different name, different comedy so I expect Sparky to have a different kind of fish or anyone. hehe.
Thought so. But let’s face it. It’s clear Hasbro wants us to forget about g4. They wouldn’t.
Yep
Isn’t that Aquastria?
Apparently there won’t be a hippogriff because Sparkling Sea, which is mentioned in the synopsis, is from a rather old G4 book that featured another underwater kingdom of Equestria, the King there is King Leo’s cousin to Celestia and Luna
Hell yes he should be. Unless he’s a Seadragon.
Pretty sure Novo is long dead and in “Seaquestria” but never mind.
That or the world’s biggest pufferfish.
Would Spike now be a shark now that he is Dragon lord?
