In 2017 I drew Tempest Shadow Equestria Girls-ified for Halloween/Nightmare Night. I practically
traced a pose in order to capture the EqG style, but I never really liked how it looked; the head with too big and the waist was too high. Seven years later, released almost to the day, I decided to revisit my old drawing and fix what I didn’t like for the
Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks 10th Anniversary Event.
To my own shock, I have always liked the Equestria Girls movies, and I think Rainbow Rocks is my favourite of them, so I wanted to make this special. I fixed the things I didn’t like about the original by shrinking the head, lowering her hips, raising her crotch, and extending her hair. I also put in a lot more details on her fingers (a cop-out on the original), and even her toes, though you can’t see them. Black lines were retained this time for a bolder style, and The Movie-style shading was added throughout.
As you can see, true to her rebellious nature, Tempest Storm is the lead singer of a punk rock band from Crystal Prep, unable to resist the call of a music-off (sirens or not). Naturally, her school does not allow piercings, so these are merely clip-on for the Battle of the Bands. Instead of Grubber, she is rocking the Storm King emblem on her vest–the name of her band. You can always be sure of an explosive performance from Storm King, as they love to finish every set with a pyrotechnics display, even indoors.
