And you’ve dug up an ancient brony picture on a brony website and commented on it…why, exactly?
Though I do agree, bronies are more prone to drama than the Furry Fandom, and that is not a good thing.
Night.
ah well, it’s 3 am here, I’mma call it a night, ciao
I understand what you mean, complaining about it is wasting energy and causing needless drama, and it doesn’t even matter.
I try not to worry about anything in canon or fanon though, both are irrelevant to me if they interfere with my enjoyment of MLP. I do not consider there to be any laws or rules in how I can personally enjoy, interpret, or even alter a fictional world that was created to entertain. As long as you don’t try to insist that your fanon/headcanon is “true”, nothing harmful can be done.
it just makes me angry to see some be so hostile towards staffers who post on brony forums, because they blame them for their perceived decline in the show’s quality, and quite frankly it occasionally wakes a desire to somehow get them to s t f u
Fair enough.
Also, Tyrantlestia is almost always a joke or alternate universe thing, I haven’t seen many people who actually have it as a headcanon.
For better or worse, anything goes in alternate universe related fanons.
you know what, you’re right. Problem is, who’s gonna be willing to be the first to stand down from the drama, those who don’t care which direction DHX takes? Maybe it’ll calm down with S4 and EQG, who knows
Pegasus love spirits? I’m down with that.
Dunno, I like to have fanon ideas of my own (pegasi having innate affinity with water and love magic etc), but I don’t consider them law or anything or such.
I myself kinda like to be more casual as of late, as all the drama/whining has kinda made me self conscious about trying to prove somebody wrong about their own headcanon unless there’s something blatantly “wrong” about it (Tyrantlestia etc).
Not that attacking the people who do complain is a good idea either, that just creates drama and other nonsense.
Yes, those people are taking it to serious as well, but you also have the people who attack those who still hold on to their headcanon, even if they don’t complain about it being contradicted.
about how other people try to enjoy it*
I’m almost certain that it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. It’s way more likely to be poking fun at fans that raise a stink every time the show contradicts their headcanon.
I don’t think it matters what people adhere to, if people want to follow canon 100%, that’s fine, if people want to throw canon out the window completely, that’s also fine. Once again, it’s a cartoon and you are supposed to enjoy yourself with it, not worry about other people try to enjoy it.
It matters incredibly little when it comes to what people personally do with the “canon”, as long as they don’t try to force their views on someone else, how could it possibly be considered bad?
I stand firm with my statement that anyone who cares about how others enjoy this cartoon or things related to this cartoon are taking things to seriously. That includes the people who bitch and whine when someone does something that contradicts the canon, such as writing a fanfic. (A good example is that relatively recent “Mortal” fanfic that features immortal Twilicorn, there were so many people whining about how “It’s not canon!”.
It did initially. It was pretty small, though, and a lot of people were tired of Flutter-Luna.
Lunashy?
Whatever.
or maybe the “Woona” fans simply were willing to let go and appreciate what the staff did
sort of about both sides: People who adhere to their fanon/headcanon with no hope of compromise,
and those who see everything fandom related as bad/“spaghetti”/whatever kids these days call it
Ugh, here we go again…
