Oh yeah big time. Being a dragon with a contract with a strong unicorn like twilight I’m expecting him to be very powerful in this universe.
I am hoping he is part of the rainbow lasers of doom against Nightmare Moon and such.
Yeah, Spike is more casual and bantery than canon and is much more prone to making jest of her and is more comfortable with being around her here than in canon portrayal. I had no idea why I just assumed that he was more relaxed and comfortable around Twilight, I guess we know why and how they became so close.

It might actually be stronger with her than it would be with the mane 6.
Spike is her little brother that she basically raise, doubt their relationship will be anywhere close to what she would have with the other girls.
Unlike canon CBT has shown that their relationship is much much deeper than canon spike and Twilight.
I am hoping it doesn’t end up being her bond with Spike is less than her “bond” with the Mane 5.
That’s a very good twist on the world’s magic system that I hadn’t even considered before.
