Changelings are a wee bit different though I like to think. You have male changelings, female changelings, and then the gender of queens is basically “all of the above” XD
My rule, at the end of the day, is what I call “The Upper Portal Limit”. As long as my justification doesn’t become more ludicrous than the show’s canonical explanation of “pony makes human, dragon makes dog, dog makes human” it’s all good XD

A worker bee larva can grow into a queen if they’re given a large cell and get fed extra royal jelly. So queen bees and worker bees are the same biological sex; it’s just that the queen is the only fertile female in the hive, while all workers are infertile.
Bugs are weird with gender anyways. Like, I’d argue that “drone”, “worker”, and “queen” are three separate genders in the bug kingdom XD
Ah, that makes sense. Well, as far as Changelings go, they’re odd to understand.
Since these clones run off changeling magic, and changelings can actually wholly change their physical sex when they transform, Mean Flutters has enough “male” in her to produce a male offspring :P
Someone did the math, and confirmed if a futa and a female had a baby, the baby would always be female since the futa is still technically a girl.

There’s enough physical and mental difference for them to be considered individuals I think. Especially with good old divergence. I like to think, like that one Pinkie Clone that survived, the longer they live the more they’ll become individuals. Maybe Evil Fluttershy will learn to lighten up a bit, and maybe regular Fluttershy will get some “be assertive” lessons that’ll actually stick :P
