I don’t expect Luna to really be a mother hen…But it would be humorous and cute if it turned out to be the case where Luna really was a chicken.
I’m not debating that she’s the mother (though it would be quite the twist if it was just a random eye she found), but I’m debating who laid it. For one, she’s too small to have created it inside herself, and second is that it would be odd for a pony _to_lay eggs, which is why I say that the Spirit of Chaos was the one to lay it.

This is what I’m referring to. The face shows much more surprise than concern, which is why I say that she didn’t lay it.
Or, she layed it and is keeping it warm.
Judging by how she comes across it, I’m positive that if she’s the mother, and it’s Discord that laid it. She seemed to surprised to laid it herself.
