Description
“P-please Sunshine… I can’t… Please don’t leave…” Joyride says, muffled from her tears and the fact that she has her face buried in Sunshine’s hug.
“This isn’t the end… You are and will always be my friend.” Sunshine says.
“-and that’s the last I ever saw her, or even talked to her.” Emerald hears from behind him.
The two foals turn to see Joyride walking up behind them.
“O-oh! Hey there Joyride I-” Ruby starts, but Emerald interrupts her.
Though Joyride looks the maddest that Emerald has ever seen her, he yells. Tears streaming, he asks why Joyride never told her that Sunshine was his mother.
“Oh come on. What are the chance that-” Joyride starts.
But suddenly, as if by Emerald’s own will, the memory starts to reverse, going back in time until Sunshine is separated from past Joyride. It freezes at this point, and Emerald walks over and points to her choker, which has a very familiar pendant in it.
Joyride stands silently for a second, her eyes twitching from side to side again, “But… That can’t… That CAN’T be right.”
Joyride suddenly rushes Emerald, and shaking him continues, “But your mother. You are sure your mother is dead? You are absolutely sure? Wait, and-!”
Joyride suddenly stares hard at Ruby, who seems to flinch at this and says, “But it could be her mother too!”
Joyride suddenly stumbles back and says, “Wait no… That’s no better… No, it can’t be. It CAN’T be…”
Joyride seems to be muttering to herself at this point. Emerald wipes his face, but the tears don’t seem to stop.
