I never uploaded Ardeur’s updated design!
This is Ardeur. A character I am playing in the new MLP Renegade Tabletop RPG. A character with a lot of problems. Intended to be an anomaly. The idea is that this character is actually not a baby dragon. Despite his height and lack of wings, he’s got plenty years over Spike, Smolder and even Ember. Ardeur’s wings never grew in. I was playing with the idea that they were actually cut off but I thought that was WAY too dark. A dragon treated like a child despite being a lot older. Partially inspired by the Wayans movie “Little Man”.
Ardeur is very much supposed to be a bit of a parody and contrast of Spike. He’s a little cute guy that at face value seems to be a friendly glassblower/alchemist working his way up in the world after taking his business from his master after a tragic accident. Ardeur’s desire to help others, kiss butt to make people feel good and create concoctions to make up for others’ shortcoming comes from a genuine place to do the right thing. However his upbringing as an angry arsonist being in and out of jail in different cities lends to the fact that Ardeur has much more going for him than people may realize. He’s a character that was previously fueled by anger and pride. Not afraid to fight anyone or burn anything when people pick on him. Now it’s clear Ardeur has found a bit of peace. But that energy is boiling under the surface. Often coaxing aggressors with a smile on his face because it means he can legally let loose if provoked or defending himself. He also has a knack for “borrowing” things to which in his defense, he usually returns. He’s a good character that wants to do the right thing. Even if it means doing the wrong thing if his ends justify the means.
