I get what you mean, though personally I think it makes sense with how grounded this AU seems to be, at least emotionally. A character walking around in 1920s americana talking about prohibition and recovering from the great war and being called “pinkie pie” would be a little jarring, at least to me.

I get what it’s going for, but the renames kinda remind me of when a comic book movie is using a character with a stupid name, and try to dance around it so it looks less silly.
