G4 was unlucky to be in the era when licensed games died out and companies thought phone games would make them outdated.

Nowadays people realize mobile games can’t completely replace real games. There’s an appeal that just can’t be replicated.

And for parents they would probably rather have games that they could easily monitor their kids and be able to play more in a family social setting.

Got to give G5 credit in this regard; a cultural phenomenon like MLP G4 never got an official computer game throughout its run, yet G5 already has a sequel in the works despite the first one being as basic as it can be.
