Then they cared to poke fun. I think the reason for this friction is just human. This is a rather unexpected development (the whole EqGs thing and Alicorn Twi) and as such we as people have a bad reaction to as we all initially do to something like this. (Sorry if I’m not making sense)

Rainbow Dash Pony had always looked rather feminine like the others from the start. When did this fandom stop liking the characters in the show just because of the toys? Back in 2011 and 12 people didn’t really give that much F-k about the toys and focused on the show itself instead.

No they’re not. The Galaxy Girls don’t have exaggerated lips and eyeshadow, they have distinct appearances in more than just clothing, and they don’t make any attempt at having a quasi-realistic body shape.

You have a point there. But with the regular MLP toys they aren’t human characters, so they can’t be portrayed as insensitively as the EQG dolls.

No they don’t, they look like stylized cartoon characters, a la The Powerpuff Girls.
 
The EQG dolls look like an attempt at at making something similar to Bratz, which are just realistic enough to fall into the uncanny valley. The EQG dolls’ faces also give the appearance that they’re are all wearing makeup, which completely contradicts the characters.
