I always figured it wasn’t just “Derpy” but the combination of bodily malfuction implication. So mayhaps the middle ground in the whole ordeal is Derpy Doo?

I just need to. Just for those who complain about the specific episode and character being edited. :)

I love Derpy, and I’m perfectly fine with your comment. It’s true that she’s overrated and she was, at one point, called “Ditzy Doo”, and it doesn’t affect me if someone doesn’t like her.

If that animation error never happened, then show would be missing some funny background gags, some of the people brought into the fandom by Derpy (like me) wouldn’t have come in until later (if at all), and one of the stronger connections between the fans and the staff would be missing. We’d be missing a lot of funny/cute/heartwarming drawings and comics, but we’d also be missing a lot of cruel and insulting ones as well, and we wouldn’t have Derpygate as a great gaping raw wound in the fandom. Bronies might feel a little less entitled as well, though that’s debatable.
 
In all honesty, it probably would have been better for the fandom if Derpy had never been revealed by mistake, but even so I don’t think I’d want to blot her from existence.

I was loving this comment, until the last few sentences. It’s true that the fandom created her, but once DHX brought her back into the show they gave her to the entire audience. I don’t care for the idea of bronies “owning” her, or for the idea of her symbolizing the fandom. That’s the sort of thing that led to fanraging and vicious attacks on people for simply questioning the name Derpy or her portrayal in “The Last Roundup”. I think we’d be better off letting other call her “Ditzy” if they want, and respectfully disagreeing with them about “The Last Roundup” rather than attacking them for “trying to wipe out the fandom mascot”. (I’m not accusing anyone here specifically of such raging, just stating my belief that bronies thinking they “own” Derpy contributes to such raging.)

I hate to go to a negative level, but I must say it (Grab your popcorn bag). She doesn’t represent me, her name were originally supposed to be Ditzy Doo (remember the letter), she’s very overrated and give most of the fandom a big favoritism toward her (Did I need to show that) just because she does an apparition . Again, my opinions, just that and I need a Chill-Out drink.

But the thing about Derpy is that people care about her because they can relate to her.
 
There are a lot of us who knows what it feels like to be the outcast, or branded the “screwup”
 
We are able to see a lot of ourselves in the character and add to her personality.
 
Kind, awkward, ditzy… These are personalities the fans have created for Derpy because we can relate to them, and Derpy represents us. We created her. She was nothing before us.

You see BGP, Derpy is more than a background character. She represents so much more. She represents the power of the Fandom. Without us, she wouldn’t even have existed. She has personality. The fandom brought her to life, whether she is trying to deliver the mail, or going on adventures with Dr. Whooves, she is a character we care about. Seeing her stripped of what makes her herself, is a slap in the face to every fan.

TBH, I don’t like Derpy, even more I’ve started to hate her (And put her to number 1 personal most hated character, there’s much more hated, but her? it’s personal). Why? let see, she has no impact on any story of every episode, she’s a fangasm trigger (And a fan magnet) and the only reason she’s something is because of an animation error, and yet, people complaint about a background character that has no interaction in the show? I call bullcrap. It’s just my opinion, just that.

If the hold is because of Derpy, then I can understand… Hasbro slapped me in the face with their dicks when they changed derpy… So if it means I have to wait to get MY Derpy back, then so be it.

I dunno, but by what I can tell (and sure why), it’s because of a background character know as Derpy in The Last Roundup that is the problem. Because, you know, a BP is very, very important to every story of every episode of MLP for the fans (Sometimes I wonder if they know who was the main focus in TLR and remember that).

Maybe an episode is missing or some are in the wrong order?
