Starry Night is a 22 year old doe of the Arboreal deer subspecies, who works as a personal fitness trainer in Ponyville, where her parents still live. Instead of giving her a more typical name for her species, her parents named her in the pony manner, after her darker than usual colouration and her plethora of fawn spots reminding them of a night sky. Known to be happy, flirty and caring, Starry has earned the respect of many residents of Ponyville.
Physically, Starry is tall, strong and well muscled for a doe of her species- her build being far closer to that of a stag than that of a doe. Her height is approximately 5 feet and 6 inches, or around 167cm tall, while she weighs in at 189lbs, or 86kgs. As such, she is very heavy compared to the average doe, who tend to be very slim and svelte and typically no more than 100lbs or 45kgs.
Growing up in Ponyville, Starry has a much more pony-like personality than most deer, being innately extroverted, friendly, and social. She loves to meet new ponies and peoples of all species. Among others, Starry has developed friendships with Starlight Glimmer, Trixie Lulamoon, Freya Karisdóttir, and with Foxglove in particular – whom she considers to be the sister she never had. These two deer can often be seen exercising together in the early mornings, no matter the weather.
It is noted that Starry has been extensively trained in self defense and can sometimes be found sparring with Rarity- the two ladies share a friendly rivalry in the ring, as it were, and though Starry is not interested in fashion or high society, she does consider the elegant unicorn a good friend, and far more wily, cunning and intelligent than Rarity lets on. While Starry is physically strong enough to overpower Rarity, Rarity’s telekinetic abilities can make her a frightening opponent.
As to her family, Starry was an only child, and was raised in the manner of a pony- her beloved parents intentionally and fully cutting ties with their own tribal culture and religion in order to better integrate into Equestrian society. Starry’s mother is named Rosewood, and her father is named Hornbeam. Together, Starry’s parents run a small but successful haberdashery store located close to the Carousel Boutique.
When it comes to more personal matters, Starry Night is bisexual with no gender or species preferences as to any potential suitors. She is currently dating the pegasus stallion, Thunderlane, but this relationship is in the very early stages at present, and no-one can say which way it will go yet. We at the Bureau remain hopeful, of course, and wish them the best of luck together.
