I know MLP liked to promote female characters being strong, but honestly this one reversal would have made the whole special make SOOO much more sense. Cadance is the one with the love powers the Changelings would want to control, and it would still work with Twilight questioning why her once loving and friendly brother had seemingly turned cold and uncairing.
‘Anthony C’ mentioned this in one of his reviews where he was shown a version of This Day Aria with such a role swap and how it nearly fixed every issue he had with the most controversial episode of the show he’d seen to date at the time. :P
