I fully agree.
In fact, complaining about complaining is probably even more counterproductive.
Defending a show’s problems from criticism by complaining is really no better than complaining about the problems. It’s still feeding drama, but with a different motive (which usually isn’t any more noble than that of the complainers).
Yes, it’s just a show.
And when some people have opinions about a show or aspects of a show, other people rage. Over someone’s opposing opinion on a freaking television show.
Just like you did.

You see, the argument “it’s just a show” does not end the discussion.
It’s a good argument, sure, I approve of not getting worked up over small things, but it is not a problem solver.
The whole Alicorn-Twilight-debate is not over just because “it’s just a show”.

Whilst a couple of those points are kind of silly, a couple others are really relatable.
Yes, this list will do nicely.
I just want to say Optimus and a dragon don’t seem like very apt comparisons. And isn’t it made clear that this change came about because she changed? And would taking the wings away really hurt her? She wouldn’t be lombotimized and forget everything that happened to her. The only thing that would be affected are Celestia’s plans. And I would not mind seeing how she’d react if they go south.
