The inscriptions in the picture are a verse written by me originally in Russian. I do not know how to translate it correctly:

“Fulfilling my promise
I was covering up the lies.

From time immemorial, a thousand voices
They asked the deity for forgiveness,
But all the words were in vain.

The puny people will no longer be disturbed by the nobility, it is our turn to curb their anger.

Distortions have become the instrument of condemnation.

Fulfilling my family’s duty, I cannot escape from fate.
I don’t remember myself anymore, but I still love you.”

The post and the picture refer to the story of the world of the Vanilla Waffle Kingdom that I invented. New, of course, I don’t know what I’m talking about, so the post will be interesting to those who are fumbling. For the new members of the group, I will try to make an introductory post in the future with explanations of what and how.

And now to the essence of the picture:
In this world, a person’s faith in someone has significant power. By giving faith to a piece of his soul, a person who accepts this faith has a chance to ascend and become a divine being. The more people believe, the more likely the goal of their faith is to become God.

But the given part of the soul cannot be returned, which means that it is unacceptable to throw away faith. With a change of faith, a person already gives away the second part of the soul and will remain without it, and this puts himself at risk of becoming infected with a distortion from which the soul itself was protecting.

The disease leads to the fact that the human body gradually begins to be covered with deformities. The most common of them are: Sharp tentacles, the appearance of extra eyes, teeth from the body, a change in the structure of the limbs. All this leads to the fact that a person begins to look like a monster, which begins to frighten others. Because of this, those infected with distortion are most often subjected to condemnation, bullying and aggression in their direction, which puts pressure on their minds and they flee to the forests, where they lead a hermit lifestyle. It also puts pressure on the mind and, as happens most often, the victim of the disease goes crazy. A few weeks after going wild, infected people stop looking like something alive and become trees.

What is in the picture? Another person (here he is depicted as a pony) trying to fight this disease, like his entire family, but eventually becomes a victim of it himself.
