Littlepip is about to plug herself into a machine to become a living computer of sorts…possibly for an eternity.

She is doing so in order to save Equestria, save her friends and accompany Celestia in limbo.

This is a heartbreaking scene because she was given the choice to join her lover and friends, but she chose to sacrifice herself for the greater good.
