This takes place after Queen Chrysalis was defeated.
Thomas and Percy told Cadance what had happened while Twilight cried on her neck. Celestia, Shining Armor and the Mane 5 all felt horribly guilty for refusing to listen to Twilight and the engines, as well as casting Twilight out. The engines were still upset and gave the Mane 5, Shining, and Celestia a huge scolding about how they treated Twilight, even going as far as telling them that they should have realized something was off when the fake Cadance was being rude to them.
