You have a point there, but I’d prefer if people would just talk about what they enjoy instead of what they don’t.
I don’t think the show is going to shit, and I don’t want to constantly hear from people who do when I talk about it.
I’m not saying it is.
It’s like the OP and everyone ITT knows nothing about the people who don’t agree with the direction the main show is going or with the idea of EqG. Hell, most threads on /mlp/, for example, are threads for writing, drawing, and porn. It’s like saying that any Star Wars fan who hated the prequel trilogy but still likes the books, cartoons, and fan content should leave the Star Wars fandom. You’re attacking straw men.
To “Hate and intolerate” the show isn’t much better.
Well, I think that answer “GTFO” is not within borders of love and tolerance.
Actually, yes it is. If someone is just going to keep complaining, then why bother continue watching or following that subject?
This is not appropriate brony answer.
Yes, I know they are alternate universe beings, but still. Rainbow Dash’s skirt just seems a bit off, but if they had to use similar models and similar clothing and accessories due to budget constraints, then oh well.
I think it’s for the animation budget. Having a bunch of different models means more money spent.
My only objection to the outfits for EqG is that they’re all the same thing: shirts, skirts, and boots. Sure the colors and patterns are different, but still, out of a group of 6 friends they’d all wear the same basic outfit? Why not a little variety to help further define character?
Yeah, plus it’s kind of hypocritical of several sides of the argument who say “ugh, why skirts?”
If we’re talking about “what’s a good role model for girls,” shouldn’t we be ignoring what the character is wearing completely and be focusing on their actions? The only thing that whining about a character wearing one article of clothing over another is going to do is make people that want to wear that article of clothing clothing feel terrible about themselves since it’s portrayed as unacceptable.
Also, a character that you identify with solely because “she wears jeans not skirts, just like me!” is probably not that good of a character. I don’t care how fat/skinny, “feminine” /“masculine,” tall/short or young/old a character is. If they’re a good person on the inside, I’ll identify with them. But identifying with a character just because they physically remind you of yourself? No, sorry. I just don’t get it. Maybe I just want more from my characters.
I take it as much as the Sea Pony kids book with the creepy art style. It exists, I don’t care about it but I won’t use it to judge the main original series.
I overcome changes very easily, some days ago i was upset that introducing humans EG would took some of the magic of the show, but now i’m seeing it as value depth.
I’ve already seen complaints about EQG Fluttershy’s outfit because it is apparently ‘out of her character style’ despite that this is an alternate universe and that it’s just the artist. I’m sorry she doesn’t wear whatever the hell you headcanonically want her to wear.
Then they would be called sluts.
Though viewership would definitely go up, for two large reasons.
Three words.
HIT!
THE!
DECK!
I will not take it back! We must duel to the death for this!
(Adventure time is pretty dern good too.)
Jesus, they’re already going to be attacked by SJWs for wearing skirts and not being “realistic.” I can only imagine the response if they used “fan favorite” designs for the characters.
NO THAT’S ADVENTURE TIME YOU TAKE THAT BACK! JK if you have a different preference we cool.
*possibly forgetting
I don’t like change persay, but I am willing to wait and see where it will go before solidifying my judgement on it.
@Background Pony
I can agree to that. Sometimes I do think we put too high expectations on this show, possibly it’s just a family show, not a masterpiece.
Gravity Falls is the only masterpiece kids show right now (SHAMELESS WHORING!!!)
But, by liking humanized characters, some of us usually liked Applerack (with dem applebucking thighs), Hootershy, and Headlight Sparkle.
