when i hear “rip-off” i think of something like a tourist trap, something that promises amazing things only to be underwhelming once you buy it

youre absolutely right, it bothers me too. a true bootleg would be something trying to actively trick you into thinking its a real mlp toy
unfortunately any “trend-followers” (as i call them) are considered bootlegs on here, theres no alternate tag for them.

Not everything is a bootleg of MLP, it’s simply other horses. Bootlegs take molds of MLPs, these have their own molds.
