Oh my, canon art?

As you can see in my bio I am a big fan of the changelings. I posted about them once upon a time but alas I got insecure about focusing on what are essentially secondary characters, so what was posted is long gone now. However I am older and wiser, and I have come to the conclusion that I don’t care and I’ll draw what interests me LMAO.

The changelings were really the only ones on my radar to overhaul slightly for my next gen. I can very much appreciate the pastel look of the reformed changelings in the show, I do not hate them by any measure, however that isnt what I am going for here. So, my thought process for these redesigns goes as follows~

Just ignore Ocellus for a second- Thorax’s colors here is what I imagine a normal reformed changeling color pallette looks like. They have a predomidant dark color, with some vivid accents. Retaining the dark aesthetic of their origins while also developing subtle colorful beauty they could have had all along. Now, Ocellus I imagine being a bit of an outlier. She is bright and colorful in comparison to most in her hive, which is unusual but not unheard of. However even as a grub she displayed a very gentle, smart and friendly nature, which made her a perfect young ambassador for the changelings.

She works very closely with Thorax and Pharynx, and has sort of become like their little sister.

I haven’t figured out what I want to do with Chrysalis- Part of me wants her to have joined the reformed changeling hive and acted as like…An advisor. But I’m not sure. I’ll work it out eventually aha.
