The additional ponytail in his mane is too cluttering.
Then why change the whole of some of the other ponies’ names, Pinkie may sound feminine but Pie can fit for both, Rainbow may make people thing more of girly thing(don’t know why really) but Dash is fine, and Twilight… I can make jokes but really it’s not anymore masculine or feminine it’s only Sparkle that may come off as feminine.
Because Applejack can work as both a masculine and feminine name.
That’s something it seems a lot of people just stick with the same name for male AJ, and it is indeed lame.
