Description

Princess Celestia of the Sun was nothing but a fool. Despite the general public’s protests, she knew what she was. A horrible sister. A horrible friend. A horrible…foolish…lover.
“W-Whose that?” A small voice called from behind her. Celestia immediately stood to attention at the sudden voice in the small patch she had wandered into, containing the statue of someone she failed and who she loved despite her efforts to avoid it.
She glanced behind her to her small newest student who gazed up at the statue in front of Celestia with a mix of wonder and slight horror. Celestia gave a sad smile, a pitiful attempt to seem alright as the lavender filly took a few steps closer before looking to her teacher for answers.
“Chaos,” Celestia replied as Twilight’s eyes flickered with the need to know more. “This statue represents chaos in all its forms. The good, and…well…the bad.”
Celestia’s head went down again in sorrow as a wave of the usual guilt and exhaustion spread across her aching ancient bones. She took a deep breath and rose again to stand tall as all her citizens needed her to do. To stare directly at the two forms she was forced to lose so many lifetimes ago.
“Do I want to know why you followed me here, dear student?” Celestia asked with a raised eyebrow, hoping her annoyance wasn’t shining through to the filly. Twilight went as bright as a tomato and started to stammer as she hoofed the ground.
“W-Well, Pr-Princess, y-you seemed sad today and I-I-”
Celestia noticed the beginning of tears forming at the corner of Twilight’s eyes as she struggled to continue her explanation. So Celestia smiled, pushing her negative emotions away to approach the filly and draping a comforting wing over her back as she began to direct her student toward the nearest castle door.
“It’s alright, Twilight. I will be fine. Thank you for your concern, my faithful student.” Celestia said with a smile she hoped to comfort the filly, Twilight sniffed and whipped her muzzle with her hoof before giving an unsure smile back to the much larger pony. “Come, let’s have some chocolate cake in the kitchen. One last treat for all your hard work today, alright? Then we can read those new magic theory books you love.”
Twilight immediately brightened up and began discussing her magic experiments of the week as they entered through one of the polished doorways of Canterlot Castle. Twilight’s voice drifted away as Celestia took one last look at the lone statue and the moon rising above it, marked with her failures before she turned away to focus on the present, and the young filly she prayed could save them from their and her own sins.

what’s harder is being pushed into a situation that forced you to hurt someone you loved or having to do it for the good of others and tia had it rough.
