@Greenjack I’m willing to bet she didn’t know about the fact that the amulet corrupts. She just thought it would amplify her powers and didn’t know it would change her personality from a high-and-mighty one into a cruel one.

okay, the amulet corrupted her, big whoop! she knew it was dangerous, she ignored the warnings, and she use the damn thing! also yeah the corruption aspect is juuuust enough for her to NOT GET THROWN IN PRISON for what she did! she enslaved and tortured an entire town! what she did was like three deaths away from a war crime!

BP has the right idea. It’s true you can’t say no to that face, but if someone (somepony), enslaved my friends, banished me and destroyed my house, I’d never forgive them! >:(
 
TL;DR version: Trixie isn’t nice/apolagetic, Twilight is too forgiving.
